There are literally hundreds of brands of electronic cigarettes out there and it can be a real minefield to navigate if you are not sure where to start and which to try out. We have been testing around a dozen of the most popular brands on the market today and we have agreed on three brands that stand out among these. Keep in mind that most of us from Personal Cig Reviews are ex smokers and that we are very discerning when it comes to our e cigs. So, here they are South Beach Smoke, EverSmoke and V2 Cigs, our favorite three brands
South Beach Smoke Read the review
We just love this brand for one simple reason it is the most exciting experience that you can have with your e cigs. The variety of choices is simply staggering and just when you think you have seen everything they have to offer, they hit you with another type of the e cig or another flavor that you have not yet tried out and that is just too delicious. It goes without saying that the vapor is exquisite and that the quality of all of their products is top notch.
EverSmoke Read the review
EverSmoke is a close second and it is only second because of nuances that someone who is not that picky will not even notice. For instance, they have a somewhat smaller choice of flavors and e cig types. Their accessories are not as exciting as the ones from SBS but the important stuff is still there. The vapor is amazing, the batteries are among the best and the starter kits are varied and will cater to everyone’s needs.
V2 Cigs Read the review
The third of the brands that we have chosen is the V2 Cigs brand. It is your down to earth choice with less expensive e cigs and flavors that are more classic. However, their vapor is perhaps even superior to the one provided by other brands and the quality of their craftsmanship is simply staggering. They are like a well built American car from the golden era of automotive industry in the United States. They are reliable, they get the job done and they do not annoy you with problems that you should not be annoyed with in the first place.
Whichever of these you end up choosing, you will not make a mistake. It is all a matter of personal choice with these three brands. They are the three brands that are more than worth your money and that will make a believer out of the most strict of e cigs skeptic.

American lung association statement on e-cigarettes – american lung association
The American Lung Association is very concerned about the potential safety and health consequences of electronic cigarettes, as well as claims that they can be used to help smokers quit. There is no government oversight of these products and absent Food and Drug Administration (FDA) oversight, there is no way for the public health, medical community or consumers to know what chemicals are contained in e cigarettes or what the short and long term health implications might be. That s why the American Lung Association has called on the Obama Administration to halt its delay and for the FDA to propose meaningful regulation of these products to protect to the public health.
The FDA has not approved e cigarettes as a safe or effective method to help smokers quit. When smokers are ready to quit, they should call 1 800 QUIT NOW or talk with their doctors about using one of the seven FDA approved medications proven to be safe and effective in helping smokers quit.
A study has estimated that there are 250 different e cigarette brands for sale in the U.S. today. There is likely to be wide variation in the chemicals that each contain, but in initial lab tests conducted by the FDA in 2009, detectable levels of toxic cancer causing chemicals were found, including an ingredient used in anti freeze, in two leading brands of e cigarettes and 18 various cartridges. That is why it is so urgent for FDA to begin its regulatory oversight of e cigarettes, which would include ingredient disclosure by e cigarette manufacturers to FDA.
Also unknown is what the potential harm may be to people exposed to secondhand emissions from e cigarettes. Two initial studies have found formaldehyde, benzene and tobacco specific nitrosamines (a carcinogen) coming from those secondhand emissions. While there is a great deal more to learn about these products, it is clear that there is much to be concerned about, especially in the absence of FDA oversight.
